Kathryn Evans - Nursery Manager

My name is Kathryn Evans and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in September 2003. I have recently completed my Foundation Degree with the University of Bolton. I am looking forward to putting my new knowledge into practise and developing myself and the nursery. I am qualified with a Level 3 in Childcare, Learning & Development, NVQ level 2 in teamleading, NVQ level 3 in Management and  I am Paediatric First Aid qualified.  I started at the Hill Lane nursery working in the baby room, until I became deputy manager in January 2009 and I am now the nursery manager at our Tiddlywinks nursery in Ancoats.

I enjoy supporting the team in providing a stimulating environment for the staff and children, creating opportunities for the children to learn and progress to their highest potential.

Jennie Smillie - Nursery Area Manager/Advisory Teacher

My name is Jenny Smillie and I began my role as Area Manager/Advisory Teacher for Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in November 2016. I am an experienced Early Years Teacher with 10 years of leadership and advisory experience, before starting my role here at Tiddlywinks I was working as a Deputy Head teacher for a large nursery school and children's centre in Lancashire. Prior to this I worked as an advisory teacher for Sure Start Centres in Manchester working with Higher Blackley and Crumpsall Tiddlywinks nurseries. Having achieved qualified teacher status in July 2002, I went on to teach in Australia for 2 years where my passion for early years education developed. Since then I have furthered my study to support my career as an early years teacher and leader having achieved Early Years Professional Status in 2008 and completing my Masters Degree in Childhood Studies and Practice in 2013. I have a commitment to giving all children the best possible start in life. My vision is to inspire excellence and I hope to engage with all children, parents and colleagues to help motivate them to learn and develop a passion to succeed. I always strive to develop a strong community network focused upon high standards.

Claire Simms - Deputy Nursery Manager

My Name is Claire Simms and I am the deputy nursery manager for our Ancoats nursery. I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in May 2008 at Higher Blackley and I then moved to Crumpsall in the summer of 2012 following my promotion to Babyroom Teamleader. I am qualified with a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years and I am first aid trained. I am currently working to achieve my Level 3 teamleading and my Foundation Degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies. I will provide the children with a safe and caring environment where they can have fun and learn. I am a loving, gentle natured person who enjoys helping children to develop their skills. I will work closely with my team to provide a stimulating and happy environment to support the children and for them to become confident learners in which the children with flourish and develop new skills.

Amanda Nash - Early Years Teacher

My name is Amanda Nash and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in March 2007. I qualified with an NNEB  in 1987. I have recently undertaken 6 years of study completing my BA Honours in Early Years Practice and gaining Early Years Professional Status in February 2012.

I support all of our staff team to enable them to provide high quality care and education for all children who attend Tiddlywinks Day Nursery. I will ensure the staff team exceed the standards set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework playing an active role in helping the children develop. Being able to support the staff team and watching the results for the children is fascinating and heart-warming.
Adele Smith - Baby Room Early Years Team Leader

My name is Adele and I started working for Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in February 2015 as a nursery officer in the preschool room here at our Ancoats nursery. I gained my NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development in 2009. I will provide the children with a warm, fun and safe environment meeting their individual needs to enable each child to have as much fun and learn new skills with their friends. I will provide a wide range of inspiring and creative activities to enable the children meet their Early Years Foundation Stage goals and prepare them ready for school.

Rochelle Donoghue - Tweenie Room Early Years Team Leader

My name is Rochelle Donoghue and I starting working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery doing voluntary work experience in 2008 and voluntary work where possible in my spare time. I have completed my NVQ Level 3 in Chilcare and Education and I am now currently working towards my Foundation degrees in Early Years.  I am the Student co-ordinator and First Aid qualified. I will work together with my team in the caring environment to help children grow and develop.

Bethan Hoyland - Pre-School Room Early Years Team Leader

My name is Bethan Hoyland and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in July 2015. I have many years experience working with children in early years settings. I am level 3 qualified and am currently working towards my foundation degree. I enjoy working as part of a team to stimulate the children and to help them learn, grow and develop to be independent, whilst in a fun and loving environment. I will provide each child with a warm, loving and stimulating environment for them to be creative with by putting my ideas into practice and helping children to become confident individuals.

Sarah Halligan - Baby Room Early Years Practitioner

My name is Sarah Halligan and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in September 2016. I am a level 3 qualified childcare practitioner and I also have my foundation degree in early years. I enjoy setting up a variety of sensory activities for the children and sharing stories with them in the cosy area. I will guide and help each child to develop and learn holistically as much as possible on their journey with us here at Tiddlywinks.

Demi Platt - Baby Room Early Years Practitioner

Hi my name is Demi Platt and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in March 2016. I am qualified NVQ Level 3 in Child's Play, Learning and Development. I work in the baby room in Ancoats and love watching the children become little characters as they get older. I am warm and caring towards the children and I enjoy watching the children explore and develop in a safe, caring and encouraging environment.

Sophie Maume - Baby Room Early Years Practitioner

My name is Sophie and I started working for Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in April 2017, I previously worked with Tiddlywinks when they opened the Clayton nursery. I am Level 3 qualified in childcare learning & development and I will ensure each child has a warm, caring welcome into our nursery. I enjoy helping the children to achieve new goals and contributing to their learning journeys through a variety of activities for their development. I look forward to playing alongside the children and helping them to enjoy and achieve new things through their interests and individual developments.

Lauren Nicholson - Baby Room Early Years Apprentice

My name is Lauren and I am a nursery apprentice at Tiddlywinks nursery in Ancoats. I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in March 2017 and I have previously worked in health and social care environments. I am looking forward to developing my skills and knowledge further here at Tiddlywinks through the wide range of training courses and opportunities provided. I am excited to know all the children and supporting them in learning new skills along with working closely with their families. I enjoy being around children and being able to care and guide them in their learning as I am a caring individual and love to see the children smile as they make new achievement's.

Kiera Lee - Baby Room Early Years Apprentice

My name is Kiera Lee and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in July 2017. I am currently working towards achieving my Level 2 qualification in Early Years and I am excited to learn new skills and develop my knowledge further. I really enjoy working with the children to help them learn, grow and develop on their sessions here with Tiddlywinks. I enjoy helping the children to accomplish new things from taking their first steps to recognising shapes and the letters of their name. I am a caring and enthusiastic individual and look forward to seeing all the children smile and enjoy their time here at nursery with their friends.

 

Jennylee McCormack - Tweenie Room Early Years Practitioner

My name is Jennylee McCormack and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in May 2015. I am working towards my level 3 in childcare and have previously gained a degree in Dance. I enjoy working as part of the tiddlywinks team and enjoy watching the children develop and grow whilst in my care. I look forward to helping the children become more confident and love introducing new ideas and activities to the children.

Stacey Abraham - Tweenie Room Early Years Practitioner

My name is Stacey and I began working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in February 2017. I am currently based in the Tweenie room and I am working towards my level 3 NVQ in early years care and education. I have many years experience working with children and have also completed my NVQ level 2 in early years care and education. I really enjoy being able to learn alongside the children and helping them to flourish within their journey at Tiddlywinks. I am also looking forward to developing the children's knowledge and experience in a fun, safe environment with their friends.

 

Claire Hutchinson - Tweenie Room Early Years Apprentice

My name is Claire Hutchinson and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in October 2016. I am currently working to complete my level 2 apprenticeship with Tiddlywinks and I aim to use my knowledge and skills to benefit the children. I really enjoy being able to learn alongside the children and enjoy sharing in their learning and development. I am warm and caring towards the children and I enjoy watching the children explore and develop in a safe, caring and encouraging environment.

Michelle Marshall - Pre-School Room Early Years Practitioner

My name is Michelle Marshall and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in October 2015. I have worked in childcare for 11 years, I currently have a BTEC national diploma in early years level 3 and have my paediatric first aid certificate. My aim is to provide a fun and pleasant environment for the children in order for them to grow and develop as much as possible. I am looking forward to enhancing and developing the children’s knowledge and learning further.

Helen Vernon - Pre-School Room Early Years Practitioner

Hi my name is Helen Vernon and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in April 2016. I enjoy working in the Tweenie room and enhancing the children’s skills, knowledge and development. I am qualified Level 3 supporting Teaching and Learning. I have had experience working with children aged 3-8 years. I have a passion for working with children of all ages inside and outside of the nursery environment.

Jhanara Begum - Pre-School Room Early Years Practitioner

My name is Jhanara and I started working with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in January 2017. I am NVQ level 3 qualified in childcare and I have worked in childcare for over 15 years. I enjoy working as part of the tiddlywinks team as every day is exciting. I look forward to helping each and every child to grow and develop, thriving to the best of their abilities by providing fun and educational activities following the children's interests.

Stephen McGinty - Nursery Domestic

My name is Stephen McGinty and I started work with Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in February 2016. I had previously worked for Manchester City Council and other nursery groups before joining the Tiddlywinks team. I enjoy working with the fantastic team who provide an excellent service to all children and families at the nursery. I will ensure the high standards of the nursery are maintained and managed throughout my job role for the children to learn and grow as much as possible on their sessions at the nursery.

Nichola Peacock - Nursery Cook

My name is Nichola Peacock and i started working for Tiddlywinks Day Nursery in July 2017. I am the nursery cook and I am qualified in NVQ Level 2 in cooking and hospitality. I provide healthy, well balanced meals for the nursery, catering for all dietary requirements. I strive to ensure that all the children have a healthy well balanced diet whilst at nursery. I incorporate the "5 a day" into our menus and cater for all children's dietary requirements. We provide a variety of cultural dishes to celebrate our diverse community.
