Outings

At Tiddlywinks Day Nursery we value outings into the local and wider community as an important experience for the children. We involve the children in planning these activities following their interests and ideas. These outings include going to the local park, florist, greengrocers and further afield into Manchester’s China Town or museum.

The staff to child ratio on these trips is a 1:2 or less and a member of the senior management team always accompanies the group.

Before any outing takes place, an outing plan is completed. This includes a risk assessment, a parental consent form and information on the outing venue; the manager will visit and inspect the chosen venue before hand to ensure that it is appropriate for the amount of children attending the outing and also the age and development of the children.

Parents and carers are more than welcome to accompany us on these outings and take part in the learning experience for the children.
