Outdoor Play at Clayton

Outdoor Play

The EYFS states

“Playing outside being outdoors has a positive impact on children's sense of well-being and helps all aspects of children's development”

(DFES 2008)

Outdoor play is a natural enhancement and extension of our indoor environment and the children can freely access our safe and secure outdoor play area from the play rooms.

Our outdoor space provides opportunities for the children to use all their senses, to experience wonder and enchantment, to work on a larger scale, and to enjoy a greater sense of freedom and independence.

We have two large physical play areas where the children can develop their gross motor skills along with a separate bike track.

We are currently in the planning stage for a small vegetable garden so the children can experience the life cycle of food first hand.
