A nursery with the focus on educational excellence

Led by a manager with a Level 6 qualification in Early Years Teaching and a deputy with a Level 5 Foundation degree, our staff are either qualified or pursuing qualifications, supported by comprehensive training programmes. Our team, characterised by long tenures and deep commitment, ensures continuity and familiarity for the children.

Ofsted ‘outstanding’ local nursery

Tiddlywinks Blackley has always achieved great grades from Ofsted. This is thanks to our consistent dedication to high quality teaching and developing young people. Our nursery is renowned for its exceptional childcare for children aged 0 to 5 years. Tiddlywinks Blackley stands out not just for its high-quality childcare but also for the deep sense of community, educational enrichment, and the warm, nurturing environment we provide.

Community and educational connections

Part of our ethos we maintain strong links with local educational and cultural institutions, including children’s centres, the library, and a care home, enriching the children’s learning experience. Our Blackley nursery offers a homely and calming atmosphere, enhanced by a sensory garden that provides a natural, stimulating outdoor experience for the children.

We build strong connections with local services and landmarks, including visits to the library, art gallery, police station, ambulance service, and fire station. These experiences enrich our curriculum and offer children a wide range of cultural capital opportunities for them to thrive, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them and empowering our children to grow, develop and achieve.  Through these meaningful interactions, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, curiosity and respect for the community, while supporting each child’s personal, social, and emotional development.

Our Bury Central Nursery Manager

Jennie

Jennie has worked in the childcare industry for 27 years and at Tiddlywinks for 19 of them. She holds a Level 6 BA (Hons) Degree in Childcare and Education.

Jennie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience within the Early Years. She is passionate about giving the children in her care the very best start in life, and is committed to ensuring every child experiences the best care and education within a warm, homely nursery environment.

Our Nursery Facilities and Sensory Garden

Since opening, we’ve been committed to providing the best possible care, with the site’s final alterations completed to reflect our dedication to quality and excellence. Since opening the nursery, we have made alterations to our layout of rooms upstairs to develop the nursery further, enabling us to bridge the gap between our Tweenie and Pre-School room and meet more of our family’s needs within the local community which allowed us to create more childcare places.

Focus on Nutrition and School Readiness

We pride ourselves on providing home-cooked meals and a thoughtful weaning programme. Additionally, our School Readiness Programme prepares children for the educational journey ahead.
