At our Walmersley Nursery we have an Out of School provision that caters for up to 24 children of Primary School age. We offer breakfast club for Chesham Primary School pupils; this is available from 7.30am. Children are provided with a variety of breakfast options throughout the session. The children are taken on the short walk to school at 8.50am, ready to start their school day. We also offer an After-school club service for pupils from Chesham Primary School which runs from 3.30pm until 6.00pm. The children are collected by two members of our team and they have a short walk back to our Toosc room within the nursery. We provide the children with a drink and snack upon arrival, the snack will reflect the season we are in for example in the warmer months children will be offered sandwiches, wraps, crackers etc. In the cooler months, a warmer snack such as crumpets, soups and pizzas will be provided.
The children have access to lots of different activities which are planned by our experienced staff team, these can include board games, arts and crafts or messy play opportunities. Our team are committed to providing a fun, caring and stimulating environment for our children to enjoy and relax in after a day at school.
Our holiday club is very popular with children from across the borough. We open during the half term breaks to children from all schools. Children get to experience many different things during their time at our holiday club. Our staff team plan a wide range of things to do for the children, including messy play, creative activities, baking and games. The children have access to our extensive outdoor space and even the older ones enjoy nothing more than getting stuck into our mud kitchen! As a setting we like to make use of our local community, we visit Clarence park and the lido on a regular basis. We also take trips out for the day to museums. The children enjoy nothing more than spending the full day in Chesham woods, building dens, paddling in streams and climbing trees. The fun is endless at our holiday club!
Past Comments from Parents and Visitors
“A great range of activities for gross and fine motor skills. Lots of language being used in all areas. So brilliant to see how engaged Emily is in all the activities. Emily liked decorating the biscuits she said “It was fun”. Had a super time at Stay & Play, the staff know all the children really well and support them with their learning at the right level through play.”
“We’d like to say a really special thank you to everybody who has cared for Martha (and Tom) over the last five years. From day one we never doubted that Tom and Martha were safe, happy, cared for and stimulated. We will miss you all but it’s nice to know that Martha can’t wait to go to school, many thanks and best wishes”
