Our Crumpsall Nursery Manager

Nayana Korale

My name is Nayana Korale, and I have been employed at Tiddlywinks Crumpsall since November 2008. I began my career here as an Early Years Practitioner and have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the nursery. I hold an Early Years Foundation Degree as well as a Diploma in the Montessori Method.

I have worked with children for 28 years, including prior to joining Tiddlywinks, and have built a strong understanding and extensive knowledge of child development. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and currently serve as the SENCO, DSL and Safeguarding Lead for the nursery.

I am deeply passionate about my role and committed to providing high-quality support, education and care for all children. I take great pride in helping them learn, grow and flourish — ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential through nurturing, inclusive and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Expansive outdoor play area

Our large outdoor space provides ample opportunities for physical play and exploration in a natural setting. This is vital for developing both confidence and mental agility in children.

The benefits of outdoor play

Outdoor play provides a number of benefits for children. This includes both physical and mental health benefits:

  • Fitness – Regular movement through outdoor play helps to build strength, balance, and coordination. It even helps with developing bones and muscles.
  • Vitamin D – Sunlight exposure provides vitamin D for bone health.
  • Motor skills – Using hands and feet on outdoor play areas promotes the development of fine motor skills.
  • Confidence/independence – Promoting independence and self-confidence in children is achieved through letting them explore outdoor environments and play areas.
  • Learning – The outdoors offers a plethora of learning opportunities for young kids, encouraging exploration and curiosity.
  • Social skills – Outdoor play encourages social interaction as well as independence. Kids often work together to problem-solve, and work as a team.
